HBI is the European agent of Monarch Catalyst Pvt India, a leading player of catalytic technology for the hydrogenation of edible oils and oleochemicals.

Thanks to the top quality of our products, notably in terms of activity and filtration, this family-owned company together with HBI has gained the confidence of most European fatty acid producers. We are proud to serve about 40% of European market as far as fatty acid hydrogenation is concerned. Monarch Catalyst Pvt has extensive know-how in manufacturing a range of precious metal and activated alloy catalysts for hydrogenation processes involving sorbitol, API and amines.

HBI also works with one of the biggest sodium methylate/sodium methoxide producer in Asia. Its quality and service have been approved and highly appreciated by some of the biggest biodiesel and fatty alcohol producers all over the world. Its annual capacity for sodium-methoxide methanol solution is over 100,000mt and 12,000mt per year for powder form. Its production will increase in near future.

Sodium methylate is referred to by many names including alcoholate, methoxide and sodium methoxide, and typically supplied either as a solid (crystal) or as solutions in methanol.  It is a versatile chemical reagent used for many decades in various industries to produce high-value end products like pharmaceuticals, food ingredients, pigments and crop protecting agents. In recent years, the production of biodiesel has become an exciting, new and fast-growing application for sodium methylate. For biodiesel production, solutions in a concentration range of 25 percent to 30 percent have proven most advantageous. In the future, biodiesel production will have a significant share of the overall sodium methylate demand worldwide.
